I am a local tour guide from the area of SarapiquÃ, a town located around the northen Caribbean area of Costa Rica, one of the richest areas of biological diversity in the country.
90% of our forest has been under study for 40 years, generating important data to the world every year. La Selva and Tirimbina are biological reserves that are still active places for wildlife research, which makes the Sarapiquà area important for scientific tourism and naturalists.

We were birdwatching at Tirimbina Nature Reserve and met Steven at the end of the day. Very graciously, he offered to show us some great birding spots and help us try to find the Agami Heron, which had been seen near the creek.
